DISORDERS: PHYSICAL AND MENTAL

Many people are ashamed to reveal that they have a psychological or mental problem. They think that admitting that they have a psychological problems is equivalent to admitting that they are mentally weak or they are not capable of managing their on affairs. But the paradox is no one having a physical illness consider their illness as an evidence of their physical weakness. This is because we believe that the mind is something distinct and even separate from our bodies. In fact scientific advancement have well proved that mind is a product of our brain.
Functional and structural disruptions in brain can lead to psychiatric symptoms. The social and emotional milieu in which we live also profoundly influence or brain/mind's function. The emotional/ psychological/ mental disturbances are caused by interacting psychological social and biological factors. Effective treatment of which needs intervention into all these aspects of the disorder.
The primary intervention in a psychiatric disorder can be a psychological intervention like psychotherapy or medical treatment or intervention into the social factors depending upon the nature of the disorder. Most often it is a combination of all the three which is ideal
